Welcome to No-Frills Engineering
Thinking out of the box and most possible simplicity applied to an
engineering task leads to
an affordable and easy to use product.
This is by no means cheap engineering !
Does a toaster need a digital display ?
Does a PC power supply need blinking LEDs inside ?
Do we need a 500MB software package to write a letter ?
Just some very simple examples, but it is those gimmicks the design and
marketing people
believe the user would like, but not really adding useful value to the
product, at least not for the
majority of the users.
The key is leaving out the frills which very few of the users really
need and concentrate the
efforts on functionality which is actually required to do the
job, no more and no less.
Those who really want the fancy eye-candies can still shop around with
the big wallet.
As
for this website, simplicity gains speed at no cost.
Therefore you won't find Flash or fancy
moving pictures here, so even a tiny text-only browser
should do a perfect job.
